More Than an Award: What Best in the PNW Means to Me

There are some moments as a small business owner that make you stop and think about how far you've come. This is definitely one of them.

I am incredibly excited to share that DK Spa was recognized in four categories in the 2026 Best in the PNW People's Choice Awards:

🥇 Gold – Best Day Spa
🥇 Gold – Best Massage
🥇 Gold – Best Waxing
🥉 Bronze – Best Customer Service

Seeing DK Spa's name recognized once would have been exciting. Seeing it four times, including Gold in all three of the main services I provide, is something I'm still taking in.

But what makes these awards especially meaningful isn't just the recognition. It's where it came from.

You Made This Possible

Best in the PNW is a People's Choice competition. These awards came from people taking the time to vote for DK Spa.

As a small business owner, that means more than I can really put into words.

Every appointment booked, every referral to a friend, every review, every social media interaction, and every vote is someone choosing to support my small business. I never take that for granted.

DK Spa isn't a big company. When you come in for a facial, massage, or wax, I'm the person preparing the room, welcoming you in, providing your service, and making sure you leave feeling cared for.

That's why these awards feel so personal.

What I've Always Wanted DK Spa to Be

Of course I want you to love your facial. I want your massage to help you relax and reset. I want your waxing experience to be as comfortable as possible.

But I've always wanted DK Spa to be about more than the service itself.

I want it to be a place where you can walk through the door and exhale. A place where you feel welcome. A place where you're listened to and your treatment is based on what you need that day.

Receiving Gold for Best Day Spa, Best Massage, and Best Waxing is an incredible honor because those services are at the heart of what I do every day.

And receiving Bronze for Best Customer Service means just as much. The relationships I've built with my clients are one of my favorite parts of owning DK Spa. Knowing that the care I try to put into each visit is being felt means everything to me.

These awards may have DK Spa's name on them, but I couldn't have earned them without the people who continue to support this little business of mine.

To my longtime clients, those who have recently discovered DK Spa, everyone who voted, and everyone who has ever told a friend, "You should go see Dana," thank you.
